The Awards Night for the wINDIE City Shootout will be on Saturday August 27th at 8pm at Thalia Hall! Thalia Hall is located at 1227 W 18th St in Chicago. You can enter through Ristorante Al Teatro. Thalia Hall is a historic landmark in Chicago that was built in 1892, and this will be the first time in 50 years that a film has been shown there. We'll be showing the top 15 films as chosen by the critics in this historic theater. We'll also be announcing the winners of the $12,500 Critics Choice and Audience awards along with some other awards.
The Awards Night starts at 8pm, but come early since Ristorante Al Teatro is offering gourment pizzas for $10 dollars before the event. Once the awards night is over, make sure to stick around because we're throwing an after party to celebrate all the filmmakers hard work!! Pilsen's very own Ghetto Division will be spinning music until 3am, so make sure to stick around and have some more fun!
The entrance fee for the night is $10. This gets you into the awards night and after party, gets you a vote for the audience award and also gets you free beer from 7:30-8 (provided you're 21). We'll also have free popcorn courtesy of Berko's Popcorn, and free energy smoothies. Tickets for the Awards Ceremony will be available at the screenings on Wednesday and Thursday night (where you can also vote for your favorite film if you buy a ticket), available at the door on Saturday night, and also available on www.ticketleap.com starting next week. All profits from the awards night ticket sales will be donated to charity. The money will be divided between the Champion Program (Easter Seals) and the Memory Program (Pancreatic Cancer), so buy your tickets, support filmmakers and a couple of great causes as well!!
